Visitor tracking

This site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction and we use this data to understand how people find our site and how we can improve the offerings and site setup to better serve our visitors.

We consider Google to be a third party data processor and although Google records your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this personally identifies you to us. Google also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you but Google do not grant us access to this data.

Blog Interaction

If you choose to add a comment to a posts on our blog, the name and email address will be saved to this website’s database, plus your computer IP address and time/date you submitted the comment. This data is used to identify you as a contributor to the comment section and will not passed on to any of the third party. Only the supplied name will be visible on the website although you are linked to a Gravatar account, your Gravatar photo will also be shown.

Your comment and it’s associated personal data will remain on this site until we see fit to either remove the comment or remove the blog post. Should you wish to have the comment or personal data deleted, please email us.

Purchases

If you purchase anything from our webstore your purchase, name, email and postal address will be stored on the website database. This information is not currently encrypted or anonymous. This information is passed to PayPal for payment processing. We consider PayPal to be a third party processor and your information will be stored on the PayPal server until we see fit to remove the comment or PayPal removes your information. Your postal address will be used for dispatching your goods and will not be sold or shared with any other parties other than the courier we use to purchase the postage.

Contact forms and email links

If you contact us via a form or email link, none of the data you provide will be stored by this website or passed to any third party data processor unless specified in the consent section of the form. Instead the data will be collated into an email and sent to us over the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). The SMTP servers we use are protected by TLS (also known as SSL) meaning the email content is encrypted before being sent over the internet. Email content is decrypted by our internal computers.

Newsletters

If you sign up to one of our newsletters, the details you submit will be forwarded to MailChimp, Honda or Suzuki (depending on the sign up form) who provide us with email services for marketing purposes. We consider these vendors to be third party data processors.

Your email address will stay on the MailChimp/Honda/Suzuki database for as long as we continue to use these services for email marketing or until you specifically request removal from the list.
