The official photos and specs will no doubt be released later this month, but at 10am GMT on October 4th 2016 we were watching the live YouTube featuring Suzuki 2017 bikes. They unveiled five of the nine new models for 2017, with the GSX-1000S and SV650A continuing. Here’s what they had on offer.
Suzuki 2017 Bikes:
The new GSX-750S was the first to be announced and is designed to replace the GSR750 which ends in 2016. With a new look 1000cc GSX-S style look, this will be another stone cold stunner in the Suzuki 2017 bikes line-up. The GSR750 was one of our best sellers for the past 3 years, for it’s performance, handling and reliability and we don’t think this will be any different. In fact the improvements mentioned at the press conference (K5 GSX-R750 engine and traction control) should mean this model could eclipse the GSR in terms of popularity.
V-Strom 650 & XT
The new sharper looking V-Strom DL650XT announced was a great step forward for a great bike. The previous 650 was one of the hidden jewels in the crown for Suzuki. Great build quality, rider comfort and engine. Now add to that the traction control, low rpm assistance and quick start features – along with the gold rims and edgy paint job and the DL1000 style bill on the front – we think this too will be a winner!
V-Strom 1000 & XT
On top of the 650 Suzuki also announced a revised look for the V-Strom DL1000 and are adding a XT 1000 to boot. Suzuki have added cornering ABS and a motion track braking system to the 2017 DL1000 models. Stefan Everts was the rider to bring this model on to the stage.
Finally, Suzuki have a 125cc bike to compete. As they unveil the lightest in class GSX-R125. We can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are by this announcement. Featuring keyless ignition, LCD display and stack LED headlights. We are always asked when Suzuki will release a baby Gixxer and we can now tell those who ask – Suzuki 2017 bikes!
And of course the daddy, was back on display. The 2017 GSX-R1000R L7 was paraded at the end by Kevin Schwantz and although there was perhaps no new details on this bike (i.e. things we don’t know already), it is starting to feel like this long anticipated bike is so close to being in the dealerships!
